Teach your Internet homeschool highschool children the Power of Intention – part 1

“Love does not obey our expectations, it obeys our intentions.”
Lloyd Strom

Teaching our homeschool highschool children the power of intention, to focus their thoughts on their future and the positive aspects, goals, decision or paths of learning to create their own future is a parents responsibility that goes beyond measure. To briefly begin this article let’s look at a young king, one of a few young kings and queens history has shown us from cultures from around the world as proof it can be done and perhaps it has been forgotten or set aside.

2 Kings 22:1

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem, and his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

In the above example the young king Josiah, even though he was only eight years old, he was still expected to rule a nation of people and they in turn expected him to act like a king. His advisers taught him the power of intention, the power of love to prepare him to guide his people the right way and not like a tyrant. Josiah did rule his people the right way for thirty years and was a legendary and beloved king known around the world.

Throughout history we have had more than one hundred examples of young rulers using the power of intention, the power of love to influence to others. In the semi-autobiographical movie ‘The King and I’ the king of Siam passed his kingdom to his young son to his young son, who was taught to lead his people with the power of intention.

Pharaoh Tutankhamen a legendary young king of Egypt on the same level as pharaoh Queen Cleopatra were also young rulers whose powers of intention affected millions of people over decades.

By sowing small seeds of confidence in our highschool homeschool children at home, confidence in their intentions, confidence in a few conscious directions, a few conscious steps of faith, and acceptance of what they are doing and the direction they are going will carry them through a very fulfilling life.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

As our children’s teacher’s by making these intentions a daily habit is like watering the seeds we are sowing, planting a garden of confidence to grow in their minds, make a positive change on their futures – instead of watching their futures make changes on them.

“Just what is meant by ‘your word?’ It means your conscious intention, your conscious direction, your conscious faith and acceptance that, because of what you are doing, the Power of Spirit will flow through your word in the direction you give It.”
Ernest Holmes

Goal Setting for Internet Homeschoolers part 2

In part 1, we realized that if any Internet high-school homechooled students imagined that it is difficult to change anything or achieve anything then they will not be able to overcome that hurdle no matter what size it is, then what we need to learn is how to eat an elephant.

Eat an elephant? Yes! Eat an elephant…piece by piece, like army ants – until it is devoured…in a matter of hours – which means, it can be done.
Proverbs 6:8
Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

So mothers/teachers/fathers encourage our Internet high-school homeschooled students to have faith, doubt not that the elephant can be eaten like the ants have been doing for centuries and dinner will be served on each and every hurdle they face or come across, each and every time… It was the exact same idea expressed in Matthew in Matthew 21:21 in part 1 of Goal Setting for Internet Homeschoolers.

Social concerns of Internet Homeschooling

Social skills is an area of deep concern when it comes to internet homeschooling. Many critics point out that since man needs to hone his social skills, an internet homeschooling environment where social interaction is limited is detrimental to our internet homeschooler’s growth and development. But studies have proved this wrong.

It’s the environment…
Children put into the fiercely competitive school environments lack the confidence to hold a conversation. Such children show little genuine interest in the topic of conversation and don’t know how to interact with people of various age groups, especially their elders.

Learning by example…
Internet homeschooled children who learn at home are more aware of the implications and the purpose of their learning. They will ask intelligent questions and make accurate observations. Internet homeschooled children begin their life by imitating their parents. Internet homeschooled children therefore pickup the sterling qualities they see in their parents. On the other hand, they are protected from the detrimental influences of their peers.

Necessary tools for socializing…
These internet homeschooled children are thus better equipped with the tools necessary to face the world. The positive reinforcement that takes place in the internet homeschooling environment as opposed to being abandoned, embarrassed or ignored in a normal school environment strengthens their self-esteem. Internet homeschooled children turn out to be better balanced and well-rounded as they progress into adulthood.

Women workshops – what you want to see what’s inside and how it works

Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart. ~ Kahlil Gibran

Self-esteem is a core identity issue, essential to personal validation and our ability to experience joy.

Once achieved, it comes from the inside out. But it is assaulted or stunted from the outside in. A homeschooling mom with low self-esteem does not feel good about herself because she has absorbed negative messages about women from the culture and/or relationships.

The reign of youth, beauty and thinness in our society dooms every woman to eventual failure. Women’s magazines, starting with the teenage market, program them to focus all their efforts on their appearance.

Many girls learn, by age 12, to drop formerly enjoyable activities in favor of the beauty treadmill leading to nowhere. They become fanatical about diets. They munch, like rabbits, on leaves without salad dressing, jog in ice storms, and swear they love it! Ads abound for cosmetic surgery, enticing us to “repair” our aging bodies, as if the natural process of aging were an accident or a disease. Yet with all this effort, they still never feel like they are good enough.

In a women’s workshop a set of activities is designed to promote learning, discussion and feedback about a topic or event, you can achieve this with the traditional get together workshop, but online, all you need to do is logon to find other homeschooling mom’s views and suggestions about their life changing ways into a better self.

Get better everyday

Plan to do one thing that will help you improve physically, intellectually, emotionally, even spiritually. Making just one change for the better as a homeschooling mom will boost your attitude from the inside out. You can actually chose what you want to change in this category first. Things you do most are the ones you need to focus on. A simple task won’t take that long.

Little things add up

It’s amazing, really. The seemingly meaningless things you as a homeschooling mom do for yourself may not have immediate results, but after just a short period of time they’ll have you looking and feeling better. So add those bubbles to your bath, make sure you eat your vegetables, get enough sleep, think of doing something nice when you have nothing to do, and the results will be worth it.

Mirrors don’t lie

Catty acquaintances can. Well-meaning friends might out of kindness or fear of hurting the friendship, but if you’ve got spinach in your teeth, your mirror will point it out. These things can be bothersome when you thought you were in your best but end up like this, so keep in mind about how to look your best every time and enjoy its benefits. Remember, your homeschooling students are looking at your daily appearance – no pressure, right?

Just go

If you just can’t get rid of that cowlick in your hair, that pimple on your nose, or those extra three pounds from yesterday’s buffet, just throw some gel in you hair, conceal that pimple the best you can, and wear something that’s not too clingy.

Appreciate

To get that attitude going the right way, you need to appreciate your face and body for what it is. It may be unrealistic to tell you to love it, but you certainly shouldn’t hate it. You definitely need to value what life has thrown you. That’s easier said than done in this society of model adulation and unrealistic standards.

If you take a look at any success story and grasp the one element of similarity between them, you’ll notice that virtually every self-made, successful person has this one super-important object of success in their mind- a burning desire to succeed. What counts is your frame of mind. Age, location, ethnic origin, gender, or any other individuality have absolutely no part in your attitude to become what you desire.
